
Emergency First Aid at Work
This 6 hours course meets the revised Health and Safety Executive (HSE) first aid requirements and is suitable for low risk workplaces or to support those who hold the full first aid at work certificate.
On completion of training, successful candidates should be able to:

Understand the role of the first aider including reference to the use of available equipment and the need for recording incidents and actions

Understand the importance of basic hygiene in first aid procedures

Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency

Administer first aid safely, promptly and effectively to a casualty who is unconscious and/or in seizure
-
Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation promptly and effectively

Understand how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED)
-
Administer first aid safely, promptly and effectively to a casualty who is wounded or bleeding and/or in shock

Administer first aid safely, promptly and effectively to a casualty who is choking
-
Provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries including cuts, burns, scalds

Who Should Attend?

Anyone who needs to act as a first aider in a low risk environment or support a fully qualified first aid at work certificate holder.

Additional Information:
Please note: this course does not replace the 3 day first aid at work, it is designed as a recognised first aid certificate for those in low risk workplaces, small workplaces or who are supporting first aid at work qualified staff in larger or high risk workplaces.
